97 - Grease Monkey

Haha yes mom. This is your long letter! Don't worry.. but this week stunk! I don't know if you remember but Carnival started last week. There has been about 0 people...There was literally like 10 people in the area! So that was fun.

Thanks for the advice dad...it was well needed! But we have 2 baptisms planned. 1 for this Saturday and another for the 16th.. so that's a good thing! !!! 

But I'm glad things are going well and the house is cool! 

Since there wasn't anyone home, we had some cool service opportunities this week.  We start with the car... so a member has had a lot of problems with a car and they were like hey you wanna take a look? After explaining that I knew my fair share about cars, we set up another day to go back.  And little middle child pulled out a you win the jackpot card. I fixed it practically on my own! It wasn't getting gas to the engine so I stared with the fuel pump and filter and worked my way back. And after much shuffling on the ground and some nice grease on my shirt (it felt so good to have it again) I realized the filter was old and needed to be replaced.  The fuel was bad and we had to change it out and clear the line and clean out the injectors.  So after some gas in my mouth and on my shirt,  I did it!!!! Haha it felt so good!  I was so glad that my uncanny knowledge of cars has actually helped someone in need! And it took a solid 4 and a half hours... so it was fun!  

Haha and then Saturday we had another service. We had planned to pick some dirt but we got there and we got to grind corn to make tortillas and such things!  So it was pretty fun actually! And then Saturday and Sunday we went to San Miguelito to say bye to the members that my comp knew... so it was pretty fun! 

But that's about all this week.  No one comes back until Wednesday so ya! It's gonna be fun! 
  But I felt so good helping! I love working on cars and other things. It's something my car knowledge and years in the farm taught me!!! But I love you! Have a good week! 

96 - A week with service

So it was a busy week. So Tuesday we had district meeting and then we went to go help a member in her house. Then we went to a baptism of other missionaries.  Then Wednesday we had the meeting with Elder Christofferson in the city. We got home kind of late.  And exhausted. So we took a quick snooze and then went to visit a convert. We are baptizing her granddaughter the 13th. Then Thursday we had interviews with president. And we talked about you guys coming. He said when you guys get here I can just grab a taxi to the hotel to group up with you. Anyway, we had to go get glasses for my comp. Luckily I was the one who helped him figure it out. It was causing him a lot of headaches and stuff. Then Friday was service with the bishop moving dirt for him and that took a good 5 hours. Then Saturday was another one! We had to flatten an area of dirt and use the dirt to fill in a hole...that one was rough.  The dirt was hard and rocky. All we had was 2 shovels and 2 pick axes so it was fun!  

But other than that his week was mainly used to try and gain conference with the bishop and other members.  And what better way than to serve!!! But this week we are hoping for better we will see! And fyi.. I can fit the small bag and all my stuff in the big one.. but ya just had to test it! Haha I love you mom... and tell Booga I got her something in the town fair! She will like it! 

95 - A good week

Well mom. Yes, you can sell that recliner.  I don't see any use for it.. But first off, no I didn't get rabies, I'm ok now. So yes we did get some work done. And C.R. informed me of you showing the picture of the first and last time Brooke showed me love! In the hospital after the accident when I was three! She also told me she has been hittin up some Spanish with dad and J.L.!! So that's cool. 

I'm glad everything went smooth with the move! So what are they going to do with the tv situation?  Oh and btw. I still need you and Marcus to get your hands on a Fiesta ST. I wanna know what you guys think of it. 

Now onto my week. So we only had 2 people in church but it's better than 0. One of them named C Is getting baptized the 13th. The other one we are working with is trying to get married and then get baptized.  The guy is an RM. we got to take out a tree from a member's back yard....hard stuff there. 

 

But this week we were going to have Elder Cook from the Quorum of the 12 come.. but now it's Elder Christofferson from the Presidency of the 70. So that's still cool! 

But other than that this week was spent on less active church members. We tried to look through the ward books to find people. And as always the addresses suck! So it's hard. But this week we are planning on going out to some spots I never have been to. So it will be good! 

But I have realized the things that have been changing in me lately.  And it's weird sometimes to see a real change in yourself.  But it's also very nice. But I just hope that I can finish well. I gotta get me a good wife!  Haha I love you. Hope you have a good week!

94 - Healing and Happy

 

 

Hey mom!!! Well the dog bite has healed a bit. But I think I kind of did get sick because of the dog. I think it was super dirty and kind of jacked up my immune system. But I'm all good now! Just pain in my leg sometimes. Especially when I walk.. but I'm strong! 

But this week was good. The dog bite kind of bugged me if I walked for long periods of time so that kinda slowed down the whole thing. We kind of had a one day on one day off deal for the leg thing... I couldn't walk far 2 days in a row. But we did get some good days in! Tuesday was out because district meeting. Then Thursday we tried to work a little more around where we live.. then Friday was our big one.. we visited some inactive members. And we also tried to contact a few references we had... we found quite a few!!!! We found a total of 6 inactive families and 8 new investigators...Then Saturday we went to contact the last few and no one was there. So instead we went to visit another inactive family.  When we got there, they were digging a hole for a fence so we started helping!  I got to use the bar.. just ask dad what it is. So it was fun! Then when we finished we played taboo. And it was way fun! I forgot how much fun it was until now! Then after we went and put a baptismal date with a little girl. She is 8. Her grandma is a convert along with her 2 brothers. But there mom isn't a member. So we will see what we can do here to help out.  

I'm glad things are good for you guys. Things are good here! But I am kind of missing the snow... it's always hot here. But today we went to a lake up in the mountains.  It was like Utah in summer! It was so stinking nice!!!I'll take you guys there so dad can enjoy some good lake water! 

 

But we are planning a lot of visits for this week. We are hoping it goes well and people will come to church. I love you!

93 - Dog Bite

Maybe you can reconsider my idea for presents after the week I just had... so on Thursday we were heading to lunch and a bunch of dogs came barking at us. And normally it's ok.. but lucky little Jakey was lucky enough for one of them to actually go after him! And he came out of my blind spot,  and got me right on the back of the knee. It bit me about an inch wide and an inch deep. So that was fun to get attached by a pack of dogs! We went to the clinic and they gave me shots and creams. And then my week just got better! I got super sick, I was throwing up and have had a super huge headache. So my week was fantastic!  But I know the pain and utter frustration I have had this week are nothing compared to what Christ went through.. he had pain and literally had people mock him. When He was the only way they could get back to heaven... so there is always worse.. but because of those things we didn't get much done this week.  But I did get to burn a Christmas tree! Those things go up like crazy!!!! But ya. This week kinda stunk for little old me.. but I'm glad the house is coming along. 

I am just trying to get better now. Other than that not much happened. I just hope this week gets better. But luckily my comp isn't afraid of blood so he cleans my cut for me.. But Claudia told me you have been pulling out Latin ways! Way to go dad!

92 - Happy New Year!

We Well this week kinda stunk. No one was here. No one came to church. And only 1 family invited us for New Years.  And yes we had permission to be out later. So it was fun! We got a good show!

But this week we have planned to go contact some references that members gave us! We were excited someone gave us some!!! It's like a miracle for us out here!!! And me and my comp are on a workout routine now. My arms are super tired now!! But it feels good so it's ok. 

I'm glad things are going good back home! The house looks great!  

And now we've got this week. I know the email sucks but honestly nothing happened! It was a super slow week 

But not much to update on. It was a good time though! But ya. That's about it. I love you!
